From USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa comes a small-town, forced-proximity romance with a grumpy, single dad, a woman on the run, and a stalker who won’t let her go...

After witnessing a crime, I ran.
For three years, I’ve hid from everyone.
I abandoned Birchwoods Spring, my home, my plans, and the life I planned to build.
I told myself it was the only way to stay safe.

But when my grandmother falls ill, I have no choice but to come back—even if it means confronting the past I tried to escape.

The moment I step onto my land, I feel it. The unease creeping in. The prickle at the back of my neck.

Someone’s been here. Watching. Waiting.
They know I’m back.
And they want me to know it, too.
I should leave. Pack up. Disappear—again.

Then I see him.

Hopper Timberbridge, my high school crush.

He’s no longer a gangly teenager. Now, he’s gruff, guarded, and fiercely protective of the life he’s built with his daughter. He doesn’t pry, doesn’t push—just takes everything in with knowing eyes that see too much. And when the threats escalate, he offers me a place to stay, a refuge I know better than to trust.

Because whatever’s lurking in the dark?

It isn’t just watching anymore. It’s coming for me.

MY REVIEW

Nysa left town years ago after she saw something she shouldn't have. But she's come back now that her grandmother is sick, hoping they don't notice she's here. Then Hopper comes around when he notices lights in the house that's been empty since Nysa left. There's an instant tension in the air when they see each other, but Nysa's still looking over her shoulder, and Hopper's only concern right now is his adorable daughter. And now he's determined that he has to bring her into his home to protect her from someone who seems to be watching both her and his daughter. Can their connection, helped by close proximity, see them through to the other side?

Hopper hasn't wanted to be in a relationship in years, but when Nysa shows back up in town, something sparks between them that hadn't been there when they knew each other before. Before all his focus was his daughter, now it's both Nysa and Maddie's safety, and figuring out a way to keep them both alive where he can watch over them. Then he will try his best to convince Nysa she's meant to stay forever with him and Maddie.

I do so love a protective hero, and Hopper is protective personified. Even though he knew Nysa was running from something, all he wanted to do was protect her from it. The bond she formed so quickly with Maddie just sealed the deal, and there was no way Hopper was going to not fall for her. The mystery and suspense kept the story at an intriguing pace, merging seamlessly with their slow burn love story, all aided by their delicious chemistry. I love Nysa, Hopper and Maddie, and now I'm very impatient to read as the next Timberbridge brother falls in love.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
