MY REVIEW

Now is the time for Andrea to explore everything she's always wanted - at the club. In her heart, she's always wanted Chase, but he's kept her at a distance as long as she's known him. So she's going to go around him and find someone else to help her explore. She didn't expect that he'd react with such...possessiveness? Jealousy? Now she's entered into a sort of arrangement with him. She just has to remember this isn't a committed relationship, that it's only lessons without feelings. Even when he goes all alpha protective when someone starts following her and leaving scary notes, she has to remember she's just his student and nothing more.

Chase has trauma from his time in the military, and it's caused him to keep everyone at a distance, especially the gorgeous woman he's thought of as off-limits. But when she walks into his club with a defiant attitude, it sets off his possessive tendencies, and he decides no one's going to help her explore but him. But can he really keep feelings out of this little arrangement they've got going? All that close proximity, plus his protective and possessive tendencies flaring up are wreaking havoc on his determination to keep her at an emotional distance. The only thing that might blow that wall away though is when he thinks he might truly lose her. Now he has to decide if keeping his heart from more pain is more important than keeping Andrea in his life.

Second generation series are always so fun to read, this time it's Chase who's the second generation, being the son of one of the original couples who own the clubs (Dean & Jillian from The Marriage Diaries). Chase takes after his dad in so many alpha ways. And like his dad, Chase pushes people away. Thank God Andrea is strong and makes him work for her heart, tests his restraint, and gets him to finally work through his fears of getting close to someone. Their sizzling chemistry, the suspense, and the emotional connection they forged, had me riveted. Now I'm impatiently waiting for her sister Violet's story with the yummy Ford, Chase's friend, when Playing with Trouble is published.
