10 years after his time with Adam and Savannah, Sebastian is still marked by them, especially Adam. His love is possibly still there. His lust is definitely still there. Oh it's not as if he's never around them, but things have changed - they're divorced and she's remarried. And Adam? He's about to engage in a marriage of convenience with a younger woman, Sebastian's own friend (and more perhaps?), Linnea Kai. And it's that young woman who will become the bridge for Sebastian and Adam's second chance, even if it has to remain in secret, still.
Adam and Sebastian may have parted ways, and Savannah may have remarried, but the time the three spent together meant something to Adam. The memories have kept him going in the years since, but he's always known he couldn't be with Sebastian in public, even if he was no longer married. Then a ray of golden sunshine named Linnea "Nea" comes into his life via Sebastian, and she not only brings her warmth, but she brings a way for him to reunite with Sebastian, even if only in private, in secret. Is it truly possible for a marriage of convenience to become real, and for it to include a third?
I thought the heat level in the first installment was delicious, but the addition of Linnea ramped it up by a thousand percent at least. The chemistry between all three, and them separately kept my Kindle on fire the whole way through until that crazy cliffhanger. And I'm feeling...conflicted? Definitely upset, and so anxious, because that cliffhanger was maddening! I still love Sebastian, but I'm freaking out, because his decision making is the questionable one this time around. And once again, he's the one kept in the dark. Not only does he not get to be public with the one(s) he love(s), but they get to have each other for all the world to see, and he gets...what? Who? Seriously it better not be the horrible one he seemed to choose in that unbearable cliffhanger. Yes, I'm being deliberately vague because spoilers. Just know that Sebastian, Adam, and Linnea's story does not answer any of the questions from the first installment, only raises more questions, and I'm hoping against hope that they figure their shit out in the conclusion of the Impossible Universe Trilogy.
