Professor Callum Hawthorne is a physics professor who runs his classes with a serious manner, by the rules. Then Gabrielle walks into his classroom and turns his world upside down. They form a friendship and try to keep it from becoming more, but the heart wants what it wants...
Gabrielle isn't like a typical college student. Not only is she older (25), having been taking care of her father while others were in college, but she's so much more mature and focused than the average student. She didn't start Callum's class thinking he'd end up being anything more than her professor. But a friendship backed with mutual intelligence is formed, and their explosive chemistry cannot be denied.
I do so love me a hot, forbidden professor/student romance, so I came into this expecting the same. And I did end up loving it, but because it's quite out of the box, rather than the normal forbidden deliciousness of anything professor/student. Gabrielle is older and more mature, so on more of an equal field with Callum, and they start with a fast, solid friendship. Of course there's no way they would be able to stay just friends, so a fallout was inevitable, but handled with grace. And that's what I love so much about this couple - they aren't just a hot, forbidden couple, their mutual intelligence, both emotional and academic allows them grace combined with sizzling chemistry, and a deep connection. This is the first read by this author for me, but after having read and fallen in love with Gabrielle and her professor Callum, I'm on the lookout for all her future releases.
