One scorching look. One sinful night. One man who ruined me for anyone else.

I wasn’t looking for anything more than a night at The Players Club to forget my troubles. But then Ford Perish crashed into my life with a body made for sin and a smoldering stare that promised things no man ever dared to offer me.

When trouble at work turned into a full-blown threat, Ford became more than a temptation. He became my full-time bodyguard. My living, breathing, test of control. Living under the same roof as this infuriating man was delicious torture. He invaded my space, my mind, and my body until there was no part of me he didn’t own.

The danger closing in was real, but nothing terrified me more than the way Ford touched the places inside of me I swore no man would ever reach. He didn’t ask me to be perfect. He didn’t try to fix me. He wanted the real me—the troublemaker, the survivor, the woman who needed a man strong enough to break down her walls without breaking her spirit.

In the end, it wasn’t the threats that wrecked me—it was him. And somewhere between the danger and the desire I found the kind of love that didn’t hurt, but healed.

Playing with Trouble is a steamy, enemies to lovers romance featuring a possessive hero, rebellious heroine, and a collision of hearts that leave them both reeling from a love they never saw coming.

MY REVIEW

Violet needs to let go and have some fun, so is off to club with her sister. If she can find someone to give her what she needs, surely it will be at this invite only, exclusive club. Unfortunately, (or is it fortunately?), the only man to catch her eye is Ford Perish, the guy who likes to get under her skin. Well, they can have this night for what it is - fun with no strings, then go their separate ways. Right?

Ford is going to take this chance with Violet, knowing it will never go further, though he'd like it to go much further, because he's more drawn to Violet than he's ever been to anyone. He wants to see her submit to him, knowing she needs it, but also knowing she won't let him into her heart, where he ultimately wants. And he's right because she takes off after, telling him never again. Until he's hired to protect her, then all bets are off. Now he's going to show her that not only can he protect her from whoever is after her, he can be her safe spot, the one she can give her trust (and her heart) to.

Violet grew up learning that she couldn't trust anyone but herself, so she built walls around herself and didn't let anyone in but her brother then sister. She didn't believe she could ever submit to anyone, could ever trust another with her heart. Then Ford came into her life and seemed determined to show her everything she never thought she could have - trust, submission, love. They may have started off as a ons, but with their intense chemistry and deepening connection backing him, Ford gently (and not so gently *wink*) stole his way past her walls. I love this couple - tough, defiant Violet just yearning for something she couldn't bring herself to voice, finding the perfect partner in Ford, the man who refused to let her keep running from him. The spice is delicious, the characters are lovable, and their friends and family are awesome. Can't wait for the next Players Club couple to fall in love now.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
