One fake boyfriend. One bed. One very complicated Christmas …

Piper

I promised my mom I’d bring a boyfriend home for the holidays.

I did not mean Brody King—Hollywood heartthrob, tabloid trainwreck, and the reason I have a folder of fantasy fan art I’ll take to the grave.

He’s also my brother’s best friend and the man who ghosted our small town (and me) twelve years ago.

Now we’re sharing one bed, faking a relationship, and pretending he’s changed.

The problem? I’m starting to believe it.

But Brody doesn’t do forever.

And I don’t do heartbreak twice.

Brody

The plan was simple: come home, look reformed, and don’t fall for Piper Locke. Again.

Instead, I’m stuck in a snow-globe town with the girl I never stopped wanting.

Piper’s smart, hilarious, way too sexy—and still completely off-limits.

She thinks I’ll leave like last time.

And she’s right. My next job’s a world away from Hideaway Harbor.

But this fake relationship feels dangerously real, and Piper isn’t just a PR fix.

She’s the reason I want to stay.

Too bad I’m the last person who deserves her… and the one person who can’t seem to walk away.

The Holiday Fakers is a laugh-out-loud, one-bed, fake-dating romcom with festive flair and serious steam. If you love small-town chaos, slow-burn tension, and a guaranteed happily ever after, this book is your perfect cozy escape.

The Holiday Fakers is part of the Christmas at Hideaway Harbor series of six spicy romantic comedies. The books are interconnected standalones and can be read in any order.

Piper cannot believe her eyes when she sees a picture of her brother's former best friend, a Hollywood star, and HER! She sure as hell knows she's not his mysterious girlfriend, so why is there a picture of them together? But his agent's proposal that she pose as his fake girlfriend for the holidays came at the right time, because she needs to bring home the boyfriend she lied to her parents about. A short time of pretending to be in love to save face for both them shouldn't be a problem, right?

Back when Brody left town, he never intended to come back. But he knows his agent is right - he needs to face his demons, needs closure, and he has to come back here to get it. Coming back with Piper, though, complicates things, a lot. She doesn't know it, but he's had feelings for her for a very long time, feelings he shouldn't have had for his best friend's sister. All this close proximity, being back with her family who've all welcomed him back, is making it really difficult to keep those feelings hidden. Maybe this holiday season his Christmas wish will come true for once.

Piper and Brody stood absolutely no chance of not getting out of this without feelings coming to the surface, in the face of the close proximity, the warmth of her family surrounding them, and the magic of the season finding its way into their hearts. I love family as much as I love Brody and Piper - their meddling certainly helped these two find their second chance, and Marvin and Cara too! Sweet, heartfelt, and deliciously spicy - everything a holiday love story should be.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
