Blurb
A runaway bride. A grumpy bookseller with a heart of gold. A friends-with-benefits deal doomed from the start.

Hideaway Harbor was supposed to be a quick detour—one cozy Christmas job, then I’d be back on the cruise ship, far from my powerful ex and the mess I left behind.

But thanks to a tiny mix-up, my “accommodation” is a storage room with a creaky daybed and no plumbing.

Enter my neighbor Fredrik: a broody bookstore owner with a decent bathroom and the social skills of a cactus.

He’s everything I shouldn’t want—grumpy, reclusive, and allergic to holiday cheer. Yet he keeps showing up for me. Saving me. Heating up the sauna...

And suddenly, we’re tangled in something neither of us is ready for.

We’re just friends. With excellent benefits. Until the lines blur.

I should keep running, but this small town is starting to feel like home.

And Fredrik... he might be the reason I finally stay.

The Holiday Grump is part of the Christmas at Hideaway Harbor series of six spicy romantic comedies. The books are interconnected standalones and can be read in any order.

Noelle's running from her wedding and has landed in the small town of Hideaway Harbor, where they love Christmas. She does too, so it's perfect she's landed a temp job managing a pop-up Christmas store. She never expected to meet a grumpy, adorable bookseller who has the heart of a teddy bear inside his grinchy, nerdy professor vibe giving facade. When Frederik proposes a temporary fwb arrangement, who is she to say no? She wants him and his elbow patches, and can have him, while she's in town. She'll just need to make sure she doesn't give him her heart along the way.

Frederik's been frozen in a wall of grief and guilt since his wife passed. He's become the town grump that no one talks to about his grief, but everyone watches over and is concerned about. Then a sweet, no filter beauty named Noelle stumbles into the space next to his bookstore, and his heart starts beating again. But he can't seem to tell her how he feels, so a fwb arrangement is proposed. He's just hoping he can convince her to stay forever so he can show her how he really feels, show her she's not the person her fiancé gaslit her into believing she is.

Noelle and Frederik are my favorite Hideaway Harbor couple, by far! They make the cutest, sweetest, most adorable couple - he with his elbow patches and professor vibe and grumpy face just waiting for his adorable, no filter Noelle to come along and capture his heart. Gah, so stinkin cute! My holiday reading streak is so much better after having read this sweet couple. I wish a whole series would be written about them now.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
