I loved him…
And he destroyed me.

Five years ago, Brooks Saxton left me at the altar. Now I’m breaking into his billionaire fortress in the dead of night, desperate enough to steal from the man who once owned my heart.
He’s ruthless. Powerful. Untouchable.
I’m broke, disposable, and still haunted by the way he said I don’t.
When he catches me with my hands in his safe, I’m suddenly trapped between the man who destroyed me and everything I tried to forget—hate, need, and secrets sharp enough to draw blood.
He thinks I’m a mistake he buried. I know he’s my downfall.
But the man who ruined me still wants me.
And this time, walking away will cost us both everything.

From the USA Today Bestselling author of Bad Billionaires, Elise Faber, comes a brand new billionaire series! These protective, possessive businessmen fall hard and fast for the women they love…and then never let them go.

MY REVIEW

5 years ago, Briar had her heart shredded on her wedding day when her fiancé Brooks said "I Don't" instead of I Do. In those 5 years since, life hasn't been good for her, to say the least. Her life took on a dark turn when he walked away, and she's spent the time doing unspeakable things, forced to do them by horrible people. Then one night her job brings her back into Brooks' orbit, and now he doesn't want to let her go. She can't think of forgiving him, but yet she can't seem to stop loving him.

Brooks walked away from Briar to protect her, or at least that's what he's been telling him ever since. But now that she's back, he can plainly see that her life hasn't been the one he had thought it would be. She definitely doesn't look like she's had a good life since, and it makes him even more determined to protect her this time. He knows he should let her go now to keep her safe, let his security team whisk her away to somewhere no one can get to her, but maybe that's not what his (or her) heart wants.

My God but Briar's story broke my heart. Tossed aside by the person she had thought she would spend the rest of her life with, then a sinister family took over her life and forced her to do unspeakable things? Yeah she handled everything a lot better than I would have. The only thing she did I didn't like, was forgive Brooks far, far to soon. I love her, her strength and her will to survive. Brooks not so much. I'm still mad at him and don't think much of his redemption arc. I can get behind Briar's forgiveness, but only because she deserved love, even if it was with someone who didn't do anything to deserve her. To help ease the way for this second chance, Brooks' found family unit makes an appearance (Jean-Mi and Tiff and Marie and Jace), plus wonderful additions who are I think next - River and Thorn. Suspense, second chances and love make for another great installment of the Oak Ridge Vineyards series, and I'm impatiently waiting for the final couple next to fall in love.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
