Things I should never, under any circumstances ever do: ask my secret crush, aka. the most notorious (reformed) playboy in pro hockey, to take my virginity.

Too bad, I did.

After a string of terrible dates, I did the unthinkable. I propositioned Flip Madden.
Of course, he said no.
It isn’t that he’s almost a decade older than me and I’m still in university.
But because I’m his coach’s oldest daughter.
Not to mention my dad would bludgeon him with his hockey stick if he found out.
Which he won’t because it will never happen.
And now things are awkward because there’s no going back.

Except Flip is more protective than ever before and his eyes follow me in every room we’re in together. He brings flowers to my recitals and reads all the books I recommend.

Things I should never, under any circumstances ever do: hope Flip Madden might actually want me too.

MY REVIEW

Tally asking Flip to give her a first time that's one for the books is the catalyst for their whole relationship to change. She's always had a crush on him, but her dad being his coach and their age gap have always worked against them. Well, their timing's right now, because Flip's done with compartmentalizing his feelings, and Tally's going to be his. He's going to take his time wooing her the right way, though, not dive headlong and risk losing her because he comes on too strong.

I've been waiting for Flip's story, and I'm so glad it's finally here. It did not disappoint in any way. Tally's the perfect one for him - their chemistry has been building since they were introduced. At the first they were obviously not in the right time yet, but now they've both grown and matured, especially Flip, so her asking him came at just the right time to finally get him to recognize his feelings and the way they had grown. I have to admit I was a bit surprised at how much Flip had reformed and changed from the playboy he had been earlier into the sweet guy who just wanted to be the perfect guy for Tally, to be better than he had been. I love the way he told Vander Zee how he felt for Tally, and the way he went about showing her how he felt. And Tally, wow, this girl now woman had grown from a teenager into a strong woman who was about to graduate college and head out into the world. I'm sad this series has ended, but Helena saved the best for last - Flip and Tally are definitely my favorite Terror couple now.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Review Blitz: The Challenge by Penelope Ward

Title: The Challenge: A Single Dad Romance Author: Penelope Ward Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Tropes: Single Dad, Second Chance, Forced Proximity Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Found Family Release Date: August 30, 2026 BLURB From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE contemporary romance… Nothing says welcome home like accidentally moving in with your first heartbreak…and his little girl. Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
