Birdie wants what she's seen time and again happen to her family - the love of a lifetime. She knows she's a lot to take in, and perhaps it's why she hasn't found her soulmate. Then one literal run in with a gorgeous Viking Ragnar lookalike, and she's smitten. But a ghosting means she has no hope of seeing him again. Until she does. Now he's at her family's Redemption Ranch, looking down at his past and hoping for redemption. They can't be together - her family would never forgive her. But is love more important than what her family thinks?

Crew made the worst mistake of his life, and he paid for it. But now he's out and he wants to make amends if at all possible. He's working at Redemption Ranch, and some of the family is warming to him. But if they knew he and Birdie were in a secret relationship, they'd probably all start treating him the way her brother does - with the contempt and anger he deserves. Can Crew have both love and forgiveness? Or does he have to choose?

I've been looking forward to Birdie's story for a long time. And boy is it worth the wait! She thinks she's too much, but she's honestly, perfect the way she is. She found her soulmate in Crew, the man who thinks she's perfect the way she is, too. All of the Whiskeys have that heart, but I think Birdie and Crew just might have the biggest heart of all. There was a lot of pain and healing they had to work through, but in the end, it was so worth it to see Birdie stand up to her brother, and the rest of the family welcome Crew into their fold. I may have shed a tear or two as they tried to keep things a secret, but denying their real feelings all the while in hopes of it hurting less if Birdie had to choose her family. I love the Whiskeys, all of the generations, and Birdie and Crew have just landed themselves in the top spot in my heart.
