Blurb
Brinley Windsor has been under my skin for five years and in my bed for three of them. Nobody knows. Especially not Luke—her brother…and my best friend.

I've kept every secret, played by every rule, and buried every instinct to claim her out loud.

Then an old blog post goes viral and costs Luke a seven-figure deal. Now my friends are out for blood, hunting for the anonymous writer who's been trashing them for years.

They don't know it's Brinley. But I do. And the worst part? They gave her every reason to do it. I was there. I was complicit. And I've been carrying that sin ever since.

I failed Brinley once. I can't do it again. But choosing her could destroy the only family I've ever known — and walking away would destroy me.

Cocky Brutal Sinner is a best friend's little sister, secret relationship, forbidden billionaire romance with high heat, high stakes, and a guaranteed HEA. It is the fourth book in the House of Cards series, but can be read as a complete standalone.

MY REVIEW

Years ago as a teen, Brinley suffered through a horrible betrayal by someone who was supposed to love her. She reacted to it by nursing a grudge, building up anger and resentment so strongly that as an adult, she in turn hurt that man, and his circle of friends. And then there's her brother's friend, her teenage crush, Beau, part of that same circle. They've been involved for years, in a secret, forbidden relationship that's about to be exposed. Now Beau has to choose - Brinley, or his found family of friends, the same men who hurt Brinley in her past. Which relationship will he choose? Does he really have to choose?

Beau isn't who he used to be. Yes, he inadvertently hurt Brinley in the past, but now he's an adult who's grown and matured, an adult who loves Brinley. But he also loves his found family. He knew what happened to Brinley back then. He knows who she is now. And he knows who he and his friends are now. Those things are all at odds and he has a no turning back decision in front of him.

This one is painful - so much betrayal and hurt, and a lot of emotion had been building up for so many years, that when it exploded, I was cringing and wondering how, if, everyone was going to forgive each other. But through the pain, Beau and Brinley had this connection that withstood it all. I felt for both of them, especially Brinley. What she went through as a teen was really painful, especially because it happened when she was a teen, and teens take everything to heart, take everything 100 times harder than everyone else. Then she let it fester inside her until she made a fateful decision that had the possibility of ruining everything - her love, her friends, and her family. This series, this circle of friends, has been a rollercoaster so far - and Brinley and Beau are my favorite. The tension, the forbiddenness of it all, and the love equal a delicious combination.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
