Review Blitz: Silver Sweet (Cobalt Empire #2) by Krista & Becca Ritchie

Silver Sweet by Krista & Becca Ritchie is now live!

Phoenix is a hot drummer with a bad attitude. Tom is a punk-rock singer who’s too hard to impress. Two problem children of their bands have one shot at making it big in this M/M Rockstar Romance—if they don’t burn it all down.

Tom Cobalt has been called a lot of things. Arrogant god. Overachiever. Demanding, uncooperative jerk. It comes with the territory of being the fifth-born of a storied family. Not even his own punk-rock band can meet his high standards. So when every member of The Carraways quits on him before finishing an album, he’s left with a bruised ego and a major dilemma.

Reviving his childhood dream comes down to one infuriating choice: pair up with a hard-edged drummer or be dropped by his music label permanently.

Phoenix St. Pierre has enough baggage to ground every plane in New York City. He’s volatile, sleep-deprived, and still carrying the fallout of imploding his own band. He should not be paired with Tom, the stuck-up trust-fund baby who pushes all his buttons—yet the second chance is impossible to walk away from.

Making music means too much to Phoenix and Tom to let this last shot slip through their fingers. But working together feels like a Shakespearean disaster ready to unfold. Especially when off-the-charts chemistry, undeniable attraction, and destructive habits threaten to make or break them.

It’s nothing personal—but they just might be the best and worst thing that ever happened to each other.

MY REVIEW

Tom's band's last chance just walked in, and he's not what Tom wants, or expects. It's clear he and Phoenix are not exactly getting along, but they have to make magic if they want this band to be as big as they're both dreaming of. But how can a singing Cobalt god and a brooding drummer possibly make a band work? Or any kind of relationship at all?

Tom drives Phoenix absolutely nuts. He's so arrogant, and snarky, and so hot, that he can't breathe around him sometimes. But beneath all their mutual contempt is something much more. Their chemistry is impossible to ignore, and their dreams are a bond of passion that is bigger than any of their hate. They can be much more than a fling, even if they keep that part a secret while their band is rising.

Tom and Phoenix have the enemies down pat. But it's the lovers part that I love so much. They start off throwing shade at each other, ignoring all the sparks, but quickly realize the dislike is really just a disguise for something much more. Rockstar, enemies, Cobalts, and a five alarm hot physical bond?! With a combination like this, there was absolutely no way I wouldn't fall in love with this adorable couple.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
