A year ago Fitz Silver experienced a night so memorable that it's stayed in his mind ever since. Then he sees Jennifer again in Costa Rica, and a switch goes off in his mind. Yes, Jennifer may think they're going to have a vacation fling, but he knows differently - he's going to claim his wild girl, walled-off heart and all.
Jennifer was a rebellious teen who's turned into a high school principal whose specialty is getting through to troubled kids, kids like she was once. Outside of her high school, though, she's a sassy, wild at heart woman whose heart is closed for business. But then Fitz happens to her. Now they're expecting a baby and her heart is telling her to trust Fitz, that he's not like the men from her past, rather, is a warm, loving man who just wants to be there for her and their little bean. His quiet persistence, and the way he takes care of her, seeming to know what she needs before she says it, is thawing her, minute by minute. For this wild girl, her golden boy and their little bean are staring at a future filled with love, if she lets it happen.
Oh my heart! Fitz with his gentle steadiness, Jennifer with her distrusting heart, are opposites in every way, but in true romance fashion, they ended up being the best kind of couple. He had to work to get through Jennifer's walls, but she was definitely worth it, they were worth it. I love how she slowly came to trust him, even though she fought it like crazy. And how he never pushed, he just proved to her through actions, that he was there for the long haul, that he was worthy of her love, and the future they both wanted. This might just be Melissa's sweetest couple, sweetest true love story, yet. I could read about Jennifer, Fitz and their baby for a long, long time, and smile with each word.
