MY REVIEW
While on a run, Josie slams into what feels like a wall, but is actually a guy. A solid slab of muscle named Waylon, body formed by countless hours on the ice. Just her luck, Way turns out to be her boyfriend's teammate and it's obvious the two don't get along. But she and Waylon do. So much so that they become secret running partners, then more after she finally breaks up with her dickhead ex. But Josie's spent years living a lie with Marcus, and getting out from beneath his thumb is proving hard. Even with Way by her side, she can't seem to fully get away from him and his father's powerful name.
Waylon and Josie are a study in determination, persistence, and the will to fight. Until near the end, I thought they were just going to sail through without too much in the way of obstacles. Of course one big one happened, and I admit I was worried for them, because things weren't looking optimistic. In a true display of strength, though, they figured it out, Josie especially, and I was able to finally take a breath. I still think Marcus didn't get quite the comeuppance he deserved, but Waylon and Josie got to be together, out in the open, finally able to show how much they loved each other, and that made it all worth while.
