Review Blitz: Goode Tidings (Serendipity & Shenanigans #3) by Jennifer Millikin

Goode Tidings by Jennifer Millikin is now live!

Callum Goode, the grumpy creator of the beloved website Goode Tidings, never planned on unlawfully occupying the abandoned lakeside cabin where he spent summers as a child. But after a painful and humiliating betrayal, he trades the city for a secluded life in the mountains. There he finds peace, solitude, and a hot tub—which is where Callum happens to be when Eden Madigan and her teenage son wander onto his property claiming the cabin is theirs for the next year.

Seeking space from the newcomers, Callum moves into the small backyard office. Eden might be beautiful and funny, but she's also the no-filter ex-wife of Callum's former stepbrother, making her totally off-limits.

Callum appears to be all scowls and ruggedly handsome, but Eden knows there's more to him. She's determined to peel back his layers, but what she's really doing is getting under his skin in a way neither of them expected.

Eden maintains that bringing Callum coffee every afternoon is just a simple kindness. Callum claims he was only offering a friendly ear when Eden was upset. But the way Callum has been showing up in town wearing an uncharacteristic smile on his face says otherwise.

With tentative touches lingering, and lengthy glances heating up, Callum's grasp on his control begins to slip.

And when the tension finally snaps? There's no going back.

MY REVIEW

When Eden barges into the cabin where Callum's been squatting, she and her teenage son Oliver upend his world, in the best of ways. Now he's being sweetly and sassily goaded into shedding his grumpy recluse persona, and venturing into the world again. The woman who was dressed like a mint is bringing his heart back to life. But his identity as her ex husband's former stepbrother might be an obstacle too big for them to hurdle.

This has to be one of the sweetest reads I've enjoyed, in a very long time. Callum the Sad Man and Eden the Andes mint, had me swooning and grinning all the way through. And Oliver made their family unit all the better. Usually, teenagers are written (and are irl) obnoxious and sullen 24/7, but Oliver is much more layered than that. The bond he and Callum form is one of the best parts of this story, but the three of them as a family are the very best part. It's always fun reading as a grump is undone by sunshine, and Eden's sassy warmth made short work of Callum's determination to keep his distance. I haven't read the other installments of this series, but after reading this one, I'm a fan! Now I'm off to go download the first two, and will be the first one to download any future stories to come.

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...

You TV series

Wow, hubby and I watched You on Lifetime last night. It was creepy and suspenseful. Hubby likened it to Dexter , and I have to agree. Penn Badgley was on point - creepy, stalkery, but fascinating. I didn't think too much of Elizabeth Lail's acting, but I'm not sure if it was just that her character was bland, or if it was truly bad acting. Can't wait for next week!
