An emotional standalone from New York Times bestselling author Melanie Moreland.

Matthew VanRyan

ER doctor, prankster, friend to all.

His easy smile and quiet demeanor hide the pain he doesn't talk about.

Love is one prescription he refuses to fill ever again.

Until he meets her.

The one with the sweet smile, soft eyes, and gentle touch.

She reawakens his belief in love. In forever.

Until life comes between them and they are forced to agree: the right person at the wrong time.

But when fate steps in and brings them together, can the doctor and the nurse heal themselves?

MY REVIEW

A birthday cake for his mom leads Matthew to baker/nursing school student Maddy, and an instant connection that grows with each minute. But though their connection is only growing stronger, can it withstand distance and Maddy's grueling education?

As soon as I saw the last name, I knew Matthew's story was going to be amazing, and yes it is!! Matthew is the greenest flag hero I think I've read in, I don't know, ever. Not only is he a doctor, an ER doctor to be precise, but he's got a soft heart and is so close to his family. Then along comes Maddy, and she makes him believe in love again, and I was so happy for them, but worried at the same time, because I knew something was going to happen. Right person/wrong time can be difficult to both write, and read, but I never doubted Melanie would do it perfectly, and she did. This couple went through it, so much so that I was definitely tearing up, but when they finally got their timing right - they were magic. The VanRyan family is one of my favorite fictional families, and Matthew as a next gen son has me so excited for more of this amazing family.

You TV series

Wow, hubby and I watched You on Lifetime last night. It was creepy and suspenseful. Hubby likened it to Dexter , and I have to agree. Penn Badgley was on point - creepy, stalkery, but fascinating. I didn't think too much of Elizabeth Lail's acting, but I'm not sure if it was just that her character was bland, or if it was truly bad acting. Can't wait for next week!
